A New Workshop – Intro to Relief Printing

Printing is an artwork that allows an artist to make multiples of a created image.  There are many ways to create prints.  In this workshop participants will learn how to make a print by carving into a material called Soft Kut.  The resulting image is much like one you’d get by using linoleum, wood or other type of printing block but is achieved with much more ease.  You will learn about the various tools and methods for creating a single color print.  The workshop will take place at the GNWCA (Great North Woods Center for the Arts) Art Space on Saturday, February 3, from 10:00 – 1:00 pm. This workshop is sponsored by CRAG (Connecticut River Artisan Group).  Class fee is $20

A new class, Sacred Geometry: Sacred Art for Stress Reduction Instructed by Carol Ellis, will be held at the Great North Woods Center for the Arts (GNWCA) on Saturday, March 23rd from 10 am to 2 pm.  The class is sponsored by the Connecticut River Artisan Group (CRAG) and Deb Sargent.

In this workshop we will be exploring some of the Sacred Geometry found in our world, its purpose, history, and how it can be incorporated into your own meditation practices. We will be examining grid designs, physical, spiritual and emotional aspects of the grid, crystal arrangements, and how people can utilize this tool for their mental health and well-being.  Changing the pattern of a person’s environment and energy field can have the power to transform stress and create an opening for new beginnings, transformation, and inspirations.  We will discover a variety of crystal grid patterns to utilize in our meditations/intentions allowing for a frequency and energetic vibration that can be sewn into the energetic matrix and absorbed.

All Grid materials will be supplied as well as some crystals.  The class fee of $35.00 must be paid in advance at Fiddleheads in Colebrook (Store hours: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 10 am to 3 pm and Saturday 9 am to 3 pm).  Class size is limited so please sign up early.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Tillotson North Country Foundation, the Connecticut River Artisan Group CRAG) was able to offer a summer art camp to 12 students at the Pittsburg elementary school from 9 a.m. to noon from July 1, 2024 to July 12, 2024.     Tammy Jeralds, the art teacher in Pittsburg, did a superb job of exposing the students to different art forms (drawing, painting, sculptures, etc.) and the scheduling of the class during early July was appreciated by everyone.Based on feedback from the students who attended the class, it was highly successful.  They were very positive about the quality of instruction they received and expressed a desire for more classes next summer.  This photo says it all.
