Photo of Lisa McManus, who is the artist of the month at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital (UCVH) in Colebrook. Lisa received a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Painting and Sculpture, from the Parsons School of Design and The New School in New York, New York.
Lisa has exhibited at a number of galleries throughout New England and received People’s Choice Awards and Best of Show Awards from the Seacoast Artist Association. Her superb landscapes and paintings are in many private collections.
Lisa indicates, “I decided I was going to be an artist in seventh grade, and never looked back. I paint landscapes, primarily because places tell stories of change and the people that passed through them. Maybe a storm tossed a river around or humans marked a landscape. Each change is another page in the story of a place and I want to know it.
My paintings: Bring the viewer to the place I painted, make the viewer think about something they hadn’t thought of before, capture wonder or beauty, and start a conversation.”
